To welcome and celebrate the riders in the Run For The Wall when they arrived in Rainelle, on May 26, the Vietnam War Commemorative Committee decorated a window in the Tri-County Furniture store to display materials provided by the USA Vietnam War Commemoration staff.
This is the 28th year the Run For The Wall riders have paraded through Rainelle and stopped at Rainelle Elementary School to meet and thank the children and the community. More importantly, the community and the members of the General Andrew Lewis Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), wanted to reach out and thank the riders for their service.
Thanks go out to Sonny Walker, owner and veteran, for the use of the store-front window. Thanks also go out to Mayor Andrea Pendleton for her help in locating a display space.
