Set in the Far East, Bizet’s masterpiece, on stage at the Met for the first time in 100 years, tells the story of two men who long for the same woman. This updated version of Bizet’s opera stars Diana Damrau as the beautiful priestess Leïla, Matthew Polenzani and Mariusz Kwiecien as her suitors Nadir and Zurga and Nicolas Testé as the priest Nourabad. Gianandrea Noseda, who made his MET debut in 2002, will be conducting the orchestra.
