White Sulphur Springs-Our beloved Stephen L. Ware went home to heaven on July 8, 2014. With great sadness in our hearts, he was given his wings to fly away.

Stephen was born June 26, 1956, the son of Dallas L. Ware and the late Barbara M. Ware. Steve was a great brother to Barry and Carolyn Ware, Brenda and Joey Scott, Stephanie and Robert (Bob) Bowling all of White Sulphur Springs, sister Bridget and Keith Coughenour of Pennsylvania. Paternal grandparents were the late Omel and Lena Ware of White Sulphur Springs. Maternal grandparents were the late Earl M. and Mary Margaret Ohls of Baltimore, MD.

Steve became a stay at homebody after completing school at Maxwelton. He enjoyed many things and he was very patriotic. Steve put flags up everyday and took them down every evening. He also loved recycling cans and he could spot them a mile away. Steve loved listening to bluegrass music, telling stories, and making us laugh.

Steve loved his family and holidays. He had an enormous number of friends in his life. He gave us so much over the years and our lives will not be the same without him. Get ready, heaven! You are getting the Best of the Best of all angels, and thank you, Lord for allowing us to be his family. “GOD BLESS WEEBIE!”

All family, friends and neighbors are welcomed to join us for a celebration of Steve’s life, which will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 11 a.m. The celebration will be at the White Sulphur Springs Baptist Church on Willow Street with the Rev. Lewis Brooks presiding.

Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.
