Meet and greet Greenbrier County Special Olympics athletes at April’s Pizzeria, 708 E. Main Street in White Sulphur Springs, on Monday, Mar. 14, from 5-8 p.m. They are preparing for a basketball tournament, basketball skills competition and cheerleading competition to be held in Morgantown the following weekend. There will be an all you can eat pizza, salad and soup buffet for $6.99, bake sale and silent auction.
Silent auction donations have been made by Marisa Hylton – Thirty-One Gifts, Vickey Neel – Gold Canyon Candles, Linda Weikle – Pampered Chef, Jim’s Drive-In and the Pipestem Pro Shop. More items are on the way. If you would like to donate to the silent auction, contact Linda Weikle at 304-645-0058.

Greenbrier County Special Olympics is a nonprofit organization that uses its funds to purchase T-shirts/uniforms, pay registration fees for state events and other fees as needed for its athletes. Special Olympics offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities comprehensive year-round training and competition in Olympic-type sports. It is open to all people with intellectual disabilities who are at least 8 years old, regardless of the degree of their disability.
