Last night a single vehicle accident in Fairlea led to the temporary road closure of 219 North and South next to 84 Lumber. According to the Fairlea Volunteer Fire Department, a vehicle traveling north on 219 lost control and drove through a tree in the median between 219 North and South. The vehicle and tree then caught on fire.
Firefighters on scene used a chainsaw to clear parts of the tree away from the vehicle and out of the roadway.
Lewisburg Fire Chief Joey Thomas said the driver was transported to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. No fatalities were reported.
