Sara’s Sweet Treats will hold an official Grand Opening on National Ice Cream Day, Sunday, July 21.
The shop features fun décor on the walls and a study area for kids to relax and work on homework.

Reverend Sara Heino-Bissell of Monroe County opened Sara’s Sweet Treats in Union on Farmer’s Day weekend, welcoming a large crowd of all ages. Sara took suggestions from the town to be sure her business is something everyone can enjoy. She opened the business in hopes to be a part of the community and help everyone in any way she can. With that being said, the shop offers local delivery free of charge to those who want a sweet treat but cannot make it to the shop.

As of now you can savor many flavors of ice cream, including soft serve, banana splits, root beer floats, milkshakes, cake pops, and some all-American favorites including hot dogs, popcorn, chili, and home cut fries. The business also offers lactose and fat-free ice cream, and a list of all possible allergens in the treats. In the very near future, Sara and her team plan to add nachos, mac and cheese, smoothies, coffee, frappes, and much more. They also plan to add a dart board, TVs, and wi-fi. She also offers a study area for kids to relax while doing homework, and soon will offer treats on-the-go from their own food truck.

Sara’s Sweet Treats will hold an official grand opening on Sunday, July 21 in honor of National Ice Cream Day. In addition to the already famous treats available, attendees can enjoy homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches, a free small popcorn with the purchase of a small shake, a free cake pop with the purchase of a two-scoop ice cream, astronaut ice cream sandwiches, and free toppings on any sundae. Everyone is welcome to come to enjoy some sweets, facepainting, and plenty of fun.

If you cannot make it out to the grand opening, you can check out Sara’s Sweet Treats Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. Lunch specials are available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with two hotdogs, a small fry, and a small drink for only $6.
