Samuel Lee Holliday, a dedicated family man and retired Housekeeping Supervisor from The Greenbrier, passed away on Mar. 19, 2026, at Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg, WV. Born on July 22, 1945, in Ronceverte, Mr. Holliday lived a life marked by devotion – to his faith, his family, and his community.

Sam was a committed attendee of the New Covenant Church of God, where his faith played a central role throughout his life. Beyond his spiritual commitments, he enjoyed recreational pursuits such as bowling and golfing, activities that brought him both joy and camaraderie. His love for the Lord and his family were guiding principles that shaped his journey and enriched the lives of those around him. He loved to sing hymns in church and led the congregation.

His professional career was spent with distinction at The Greenbrier, where he served faithfully as a Housekeeping Supervisor until retirement. His dedication and leadership were appreciated by colleagues and guests alike, reflecting his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Sam is survived by his beloved wife, Rosa Mary Fury Holliday; his daughter, Sheena Jackson, and her husband, Anthony; his grandson, Samuel Jackson; and his sister-in-law, Sally Holliday. He is also remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews who cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kester Holliday; mother, Inez Weikle Holliday; sisters, Thelma Marie Weikle and Freda Johnson; and brothers, Marco, Charles, and Woody Holliday.

Services to honor his life will begin with a visitation on Mar. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home, located at 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV 24901. The funeral service will be held on Mar. 23, at 11 a.m., also at Morgan Funeral Home. Following the service, burial will take place in Mapledale Cemetery, Mapledale Cemetery Road, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986.

Sam’s life reflects a profound commitment to faith, family, and service. His legacy endures in the hearts of those who knew him and in the community he cherished.
