The Rupert Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a benefit dinner (Rupert Volunteer Fire Department 1st Annual Pig Pickin’) and raffle on Oct. 8, from 3-7 p.m., at the Western Greenbrier Middle School.
The dinner is to help the flood victims of Greenbrier county and surrounding areas, which occurred in June 2016. All proceeds raised will be used to meet unmet needs for flood victims. They are seeking donations for the raffle from are businesses. During the drawing your business name will be announced. Organizers invite everyone to come out and support this benefit dinner. Raffle tickets are available for $1 each or six for $5. If you would like to purchase a ticket please contact the Rupert VFD.
There will be live music as well, so bring your lawn chairs and enjoy. Menu includes: meat(s): roasted pig, lamb, chicken and venison; sides: baked beans, green beans, mac and cheese, cole slaw, bread and desserts.
