There are a lot of exciting events coming to the city of Ronceverte in the upcoming fall months, including more accessible shopping and store hours with Fridays After Five. Fridays After Five gives those with a jam-packed schedule the opportunity to come experience some of the local shops in Ronceverte after regular hours. These special hours are planned to run through November on each Friday, and possibly into December if weather permits.
The following shops will be participating in Fridays After Five and will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. (with a few exceptions depending on scheduling): Lionakis Diner, Flavor Mutt, Sportsman Tavern, and Primitive Goods. Mountain Momma and Ronceverte Skate Shop will also be open later, but from 5 to 6 p.m.
Melodie Pester of Primitive Goods WV said, “We really just want to bring customers into Ronceverte and let them know that there are great places to eat and shop. That’s why our shops are staying open a little longer on Fridays for our Fridays After Five.”
Primitive Goods will be hosting their second Friday Night Market on Oct. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 613 Edgar Avenue, a follow up to a very successful “Meet Our Artist’s Night” they hosted earlier this month. The Friday Night Market will have a musician, local artists, and a few farmers. Primitive Goods is also hoping some of the local businesses will come set up tables so they can meet with members of the community.
In other news, the City of Ronceverte just approved Ronceverte’s first Friday night farmers’ market! If all goes to plan, the Friday Night Farmers Market will begin in spring 2024 and operate between the hours of 4 to 7 p.m. More information will be available as the event planning process continues.
