Ron Reed, former co-owner with Dina Gessie of the Riverview Driving Range in Caldwell, won the recent raffle drawing for a golf package for four players plus carts to The Greenbrier Sporting Club, Snead Course, in White Sulphur Springs.
The package was used along with a package on the Old White Course last fall to raise money for the Greenbrier East High School Golf Team and the Eastern Greenbrier Middle School Golf Team. Jim Childers won the original package. Childers donated it back to the teams to raffle again to raise money. The golf teams thank Childers for his generosity.
Once again this year, the teams are offering the two golf packages for The Greenbrier Old White Course for four players plus carts and for The Greenbrier Sporting Club for four players plus carts. Each raffle ticket requires a $20 donation to the EGMS Boosters for the Snead Course package and $20 to the GEHS Golf Team for the Old White package.
Checks can be mailed to Coach Terry Koon at P.O. Box 1848, Lewisburg, WV 24901, payable the EGMS Boosters or GEHS Golf Team for the ticket or tickets you wish to purchase. Koon will mail you your tickets. The drawing for both golf packages will be on Saturday, July 16, and both packages are good until next April.
A special thanks to The Greenbrier and owners Mr. and Mrs. Jim Justice; Burt Baine, director of golf, The Greenbrier and Greenbrier Sporting Club; The Sporting Club, and Larry Klein, vice president and general manager; and Robert Harris, vice president of sports and recreation The Greenbrier for their support of the GEHS and EGMS Golf Teams.
