Ronceverte-Robert A. “Bob” “Poppy” Morris, 68, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born Mar. 13, 1946, at Ronceverte, he was a son of the late Paul D. Morris and Vinita V. Scott Morris.
Bob was a foreman and master electrician at the Federal Prison in Alderson, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte and a member of the King Fish Hunt Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Barbara Livesay and brother, Billy Morris.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Patsy L. Persinger Morris; daughters, Cathy Morris of Sarasota, FL, Carin Baker (Chris) of Ronceverte and Amanda Morris (Adam Rosin) of Ronceverte; son, Paul Morris (Pam) of Moneta, VA; five grandchildren, Christian, Jacob, Elizabeth, Hunter and Joe; sister, Carol Creasman (Jimmy) of Fort Spring; and brother, Warren Morris (Ruth Ann) of Ronceverte.
A visitation was held Wednesday evening, Aug. 20, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte.
A memorial service was held Thursday evening, Aug. 21, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte, where Pastor Bryan Baker officiated.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 707 Pocahontas Ave., Ronceverte, WV 24970 or for Bob’s love of his camp and family tradition to Paul Morris, Moss Run Family Camp, 1114 Virginia Woods Drive, Moneta, VA 24121.
