White Sulphur Springs-Robert James Brie, 69, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at Carillon Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke VA.
Bob was born Nov. 16, 1947, in Waukegan, IL, the son of the late James McVernon and Charlene June Hoigaard Brie.
He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, a retired engineer and fabricator with Abbott Laboratory Pharmaceuticals and a member of the White Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Brie is survived by his wife, Anne Patterson Brie; son, James Christian Brie of Bailey, NC; daughters, Dana Brie Demers of Rocky Mount, NC, Ericia Williams Cayton of White Sulphur Springs, and Karen Brie Cangemi of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren; Colleen Brie, Cameron Brie, Noah Brie, George Brie, John Dee Cayton III, Savannah Anne Cayton, Amanda Demers Holloman, Emilee Demers, Jaymie Demers and Chris Demers; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Jae, Keira Jean and Karlee Jo.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville, NC.
