A robbery that occurred at Abbie’s, a gaming establishment located in Fairlea, was reported to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday. July 27 at approximately 11:53 p.m.
The perpetrator was described as a white male with a height of five feet and six or seven inches and a medium build. He was wearing a green hoodie-type jacket and khaki pants.
During the robbery, the suspect indicated that he was in possession of a weapon, although no weapon was ever displayed and no injuries were reported as a result of the crime. An undisclosed amount of money was stolen from the gaming establishment.
The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction with his mode of transportation unknown as well.
Several members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded to the dispatched report; however, a search conducted for the suspect yielded negative results.
This robbery appears to be similar to a previous robbery of Lewee’s video lottery parlor in White Sulphur Springs which occurred on Tuesday, July 22 and was reported in the Mountain Messenger’s July 26 issue.
Both investigations are still ongoing and anyone with information regarding identification of the perpetrator(s) is asked to contact the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department at 304-647-6634.
