Earlier this week, the owners of The Rncvrt Café announced that they will be closing the business at the end of the month on Aug. 31. Chris and Jorge Rodriguez-Stanley, owners of The Rncvrt, also run the Hollerwood House, formerly known as the Edgerton Inn, in Ronceverte.
“Thank you for the wonderful year of conversations, friendship, and food,” they state in a social media post. “We will be shifting our focus exclusively to the Hollerwood House. We are so proud of the community we have been able to build through our Coffee with the Candidate series, the Chocolate Chip Cookie contest, and participating in various festivals and gatherings in Ronceverte. We believe that there is a great future for Ronceverte and we look forward to being involved in different ways. If you want some of our baked goods to stock in your freezer, call and place a bulk order. As we get ready to close, we will be selling our biscuit mix so you can have these fluffy, gluten-free biscuits at home.”
Despite the closure of their brick-and-mortar storefront, they state that their new focus will be on providing gluten-free baked goods at area farmers markets.
“We are so grateful for the support we experienced since we’ve been open. This decision was not made lightly but we are at a place where our focus needs to shift to other priorities. We look forward to seeing everyone through this month as we get ready to close. Come by and see us!”
