Bluegrass superstar Rhonda Vincent will be performing live on Main Street in Covington, VA on Friday, July 11 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of show and are on sale now at the Arts Council Office, Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce, the Gettin’ Place and Owen’s Pharmacy.
Rhonda Vincent and The Rage have been named IBMA’s Entertainers of the Year for five consecutive years and have received five Grammy Award nominations. Famously crowned as “the new queen of bluegrass” by the Wall Street Journal, and indeed the most decorated musician in that field, she has an engaging personality that blends down-home sincerity with big-city style. Her musical interpretations match savvy contemporary touches alongside haunting mountain melodies. A favorite portion of her concerts are a segment of deep-reaching old-time Gospel songs.
The concert is the second in Olde Town Covington’s summer Rock-theBlock series and this particular event is presented in collaboration with the Alleghany Highlands Arts Council with assistance from The Alleghany Foundation and the City of Covington.
The 90 minute street concert will have festival seating so the public is encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
