Residents of 13 southern West Virginia counties under the current disaster declaration after recent flooding may contact their local conservation district to report debris blockages in streams.
Gov. Patrick Morrisey has issued a state of emergency for these counties: Boone, Cabell, Greenbrier, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Mercer, McDowell, Mingo, Raleigh, Summers, Wayne and Wyoming counties. Residents may be eligible for Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program assistance.
WVCA technicians have been deployed to all 13 counties to assess the extent of flood-related debris blockages and damage and help provide assistance to affected citizens.
Greenbrier County is within the Greenbrier Valley Conservation District, which can be reached at: 304-645-6173 or gvcd@wvca.us.
