The West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Association (WVABCA) would like to remind shoppers that state law prohibits retail liquor outlets from selling liquor on Wednesday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day). This restriction does not apply to businesses such as a restaurant that may sell liquor, wine and beer for on-premises consumption.
The WVABCA would also encourage you to:
- Not drink and drive. Use a designated driver, public transportation or other ride-sharing apps;
- Heed prescription medication warning labels for alcohol consumption, and
- Remember drinking too much may lead to alcohol poisoning, accidents (falls), and fires.
WVABCA Commissioner Fred Wooton said, “We at the WVABCA wish all West Virginians a safe and enjoyable holiday season.”
