Registration for fall is underway at New River Community and Technical College now through Aug. 10.
To help students get registered for fall classes the college is holding Registration Day events, and the New River CTC Foundation will be giving away a $1,000 scholarship to a student who initiates the registration process during one of the events.
Registration Days are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Nicholas County Campus in Summersville on Aug. 1; the Mercer County Campus in Princeton on Aug. 2; the Greenbrier Valley Campus in Lewisburg on Aug. 6 and the Raleigh County Campus in Beaver on Aug. 7.
Admissions, financial aid and Student Success Center representatives will be on hand to assist both current and new students with the registration process, and appointments are not needed during the Registration Day events.
“New River CTC’s tuition is significantly less than other areas schools, so $1,000 goes a long way toward helping a student achieve their dream of earning a degree or workforce certificate,” said Executive Director of the Foundation Michael Green.
To be eligible for the $1,000 scholarship, a student must initiate the registration process during one of the Registration Day events. The scholarship winner will be chosen through a random drawing and announced prior to the start of the fall semester.
The New River CTC Foundation will fund more than $130,000 in scholarships for students attending the college’s four campuses during the 2018-19 school year.
Those unable to attend the Registration Day events are encouraged to contact the college to schedule an appointment to register for classes. Fall classes start Aug. 20.
