Alderson-Rebecca Sue Burns Tincher, 66, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at her home in Alderson, following a sudden illness.

Born Oct. 26, 1947, near Alderson, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Lee and Mary Blanche VanHoye Burns of Alderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Sanford Eugene Tincher; granddaughter, Bethany Suzanne Parker; and sister, Carmen Ruth Burns Baisden, all of Alderson.

Mrs. Tincher was a homemaker and worked at the Super Dollar Store, Riverview Exxon and the Little General in Alderson, after her husband became disabled. Once she became disabled, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Tincher was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: daughter, Valerie Sue Parker of Alderson; five sons, David Burns and wife Donna of Alderson, Anthony Scott Tincher of Alderson, Edgar Eugene Tincher and wife Geneva of Alderson, Christopher Allen Tincher and significant other Melanie Murdock of Alderson and Billy Joe Tincher of Alderson; 13 grandchildren, D.J. Burns of Alderson, Brad Burns of Morgantown, Isaiah Parker and wife Carla of Alderson, Jake Parker of Alderson, Andrea Tincher of White Sulphur Springs, Anthony Tincher of Gauley Bridge, Brittany Tincher of Alderson, Samantha Price of Ronceverte, Rebekah Morgan of Ronceverte, Alexis Tincher of Asbury, Megan Tincher of Asbury, Maddie Tincher of Inwood and Bentley Tincher of Alderson; five great-grandchildren, Jaden Tyree Tincher of Alderson, Tylor Benjamin Parker of Alderson, Braylyn Suzanne Parker of Alderson, Keegan Esau Tincher of White Sulphur Springs and Honora Noel Morgan of Ronceverte; four step-grandchildren, Samuel Lee Wright and Dixie Mae Wright of Alderson and Makennah Moore and Landon Moore of Alderson; brother, Ronald Lee Burns and wife Arleen, of Alderson; four sisters, Avalon June Blevins and husband Raymond of Alderson, Diane Sharon Crook of Archdale, NC, Donna Gayle Spencer and husband Lonnie of Alderson and Vickie Lynn Williams and husband Raymond of Alderson; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 4 at Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, where Preacher Eddie Harris officiated.

Burial was in Alderson Cemetery, Alderson.

Friends called at the funeral home before the service on Thursday.

Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Jake Parker, Brad Burns, and Anthony Tincher; nephews, Danny Baker and Randy Baker; and special friend of the family, Tom Burns.
