Raymond Arthur Honaker, 60, of the Riverside Rest community of Alderson peacefully passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at his home with his family by his side after following a long illness. He was born July 13, 1964, in Union to the late Lacy Rowen “Red” Honaker and Elizabeth Ann (Lephew) Honaker.

Raymond was the owner and operator of Honaker’s Well Drilling and Pump Service and proudly served the surrounding communities until his heath declined. He was a member of National Ground Water Association and The WV Water Well Association, a member of the International Bow Hunting Organization.  Raymond was the World Champion Trophy winner in 2001.

He will be remembered for his love of competitive archery, riding his Harley motorcycle, hunting, and dancing. His passion was drilling water wells and was well known for  witching “dowsing” to locate water, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Kamia Lee (Thork) Honaker, they married Oct. 1, 2011.

He is also survived by his son, Brian Allen Honaker and his companion Jessica McMillion; his step-children, Kelcey Renee O’Neill and Jonathan Ray O’Neill; his pride and joy granddaughters, Kinley and Regan Honaker;  one more expected grandchild on the way, all of Alderson; his lifelong friends and co-workers, Matthew “Harry” Williams and his wife Millie, of Alderson and Alan Gunnoe, of Marie, WV; his sisters, Hattie Victoria Wickline and her husband Orville “Junior,” of White Sulphur Springs, Karen Mae Pinter and her husband John, of Spotsylvania, VA, Mary Ann Bowyer and her husband Richard, Jr. “Dicky,” of Alderson, Wendy Gadd Honaker, of Marie, WV; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Marshall Honaker.

Family and friends are welcome to attend at Lobban Funeral Home, 205 S Monroe St., Alderson, on Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 3 p.m. until the funeral service at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor James Boswell, Thomas Skaggs, Lacy Gunnoe officiating.

Lobban Funeral Home is honored in being entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences and memories may be shared with the Honaker family online at www.lobbanfh.com.
