The Alderson Quilt Guild honored five military veterans during Quilts of Valor (QOV) presentations on Saturday, June 8, at the Edgewood Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg. Veterans received specially designed quilts made by Guild members that follow guidelines as established by the QOV National Foundation.
Family, friends and Guild members attended in support of the veterans’ sacrifice to the United States of America. Since the inception of the national program in 2003, 393,702 quilts have been presented nationwide. West Virginia and Virginia are proud to honor these men for their dedicated service to the nation with heartfelt appreciation for their loyalty and patriotism. Those receiving a QOV and Certificate of Recognition from the National QOV Foundation included: Richard B., Air Force; Donald J. T., Navy; Russ S., Air Force; Stanley C., Army; and Richard C., Marine Corps.
