The High Rocks Educational Corporation is honored to once again receive a grant from the Pyles & Turner Foundation, Inc.
This year’s $1,000 grant will be used towards scholarships for Greenbrier County girls to attend New Beginnings camp, which will take place in Hillsboro, from June 17- 29.
New Beginnings is a 13-day residential summer camp that is a “classroom without walls.” At camp young ladies take part in wilderness challenges, horseback riding, creative projects, academic classes, and a discussion group about issues they face in their daily life at home and at school. Girls at camp take classes together, eat meals together, share stories around the campfire together, and end up making life-long friends and amazing memories in the process.
High Rocks appreciates the support of the Pyles & Turner Foundation. It is through this type of partnership that High Rocks can continue to offer summer camps and year-round programs free of charge to the young people in our home service area of Greenbrier, Pocahontas and Nicholas counties.
