The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s next Water Quality Standards Program quarterly meeting is set for Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 2 to 4 p.m.
During the public meeting, DEP staff will accept suggestions for criteria changes and additions as part of the upcoming triennial review for West Virginia’s Water Quality Standards Rule, which will be proposed by DEP in 2016 for consideration in the 2017 legislative session.
DEP Water Quality Standards staff will also discuss and answer questions regarding proposed aluminum and selenium aquatic life criteria revisions that will go before the Legislature in 2016. Also, the Office of Special Reclamation will be on hand to answer questions regarding planned remediation measures for the Martin Creek and Sandy Creek watersheds of Preston and Barbour counties.
The public meeting will be held at DEP headquarters in the Kanawha City area of Charleston at 601 57th Street SE.
