The Progressive CEOS met on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the residence of Patty Gray. President Gray called the meeting to order by reading the CEOS Collect written in 1904.
Minutes of the April meeting were approved as read by Betty Jo McNeel. The Treasurer’s report was given by Lynn Humphreys with a balance of $277.19. Health Motivator Tips were given by Betty Jo McNeel on hydration and the importance of being well hydrated. The Friendship quilt was passed on to Faye Honaker to keep and enjoy for one year.
As a reminder, the Achievement Day will be on May 16 at White Sulphur Springs Union Hall. Registration will be at 9:30 a.m.
A motion was made by Lynn Humphreys and seconded by Faye Honaker to make a donation to 4-H in the amount of $35.
Patty reminded members that Energy Express is June 17 – July 26. Craft project items needed are yarn, ribbons, plastic containers, etc. Items may be taken to the Extension Office.
On Wednesday, June 12, members may tour the White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery at 11 a.m. Plans are to have lunch at Cook’s Restaurant after the tour.
CEOS members will meet at the Cadle farm on July 24 at 9:30 a.m. Auction items are needed to raise money for Wellspring of Greenbrier, Inc.
President Patty Gray presented the program, The Bloom Room: Floral Design Basics. Using flowers from her yard, she created a beautiful arrangement. She explained that design in flower arranging include color, size, form, and texture. Arrangements should be twice as high as the container. Also, using a sharp knife, cuts should be made at an angle on the stems.
Refreshments were served by hostess Sally Holliday to members Lynn Humphreys, Patty Gray, Faye Honaker, Betty Jo McNeel, and Sally Holliday.
