A Summers County man under investigation by the Greenbrier County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force has been arrested by Lewisburg Police and charged with additional drug charges.
Task Force officers obtained and executed a search warrant on a Clintonville residence occupied by David Wayne Lilly, 35, originally of Talcott. During the search, officers located and seized large amounts of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, and other drugs, as well as firearms. Lilly was not home at the time of the search warrant, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Monday, Dec. 11, at approximately midnight, Lewisburg Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Lilly. Upon approaching the vehicle, a strong odor of marijuana was evident. Lilly and a female subject in the vehicle, Sara Bennett, 28, of Lewisburg, were asked to exit the vehicle. Lilly was placed under arrest for the warrant from the Task Force. Bennett was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and released. A search warrant was obtained and approximately a half pound of crystal methamphetamine was located, with a street value of $30,000.
Lilly was charged with an additional count of possession with the intent to deliver by Lewisburg Police as a result of the search warrant on his vehicle. He was transported to the Southern Regional Jail in Beckley and later released on bond.
