Lewisburg-Phyllis Pauline Acord Cook, 84, passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at The Brier Nursing Home in Fairlea.
Born Feb. 24, 1931, at Slab Fork, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Floyd and Goldie Edna Lawson Acord.
Phyllis was a member of the First Assembly of God in Beckley and a homemaker.
Other than her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles Eugene Cook; granddaughter, Michelle Denise Cook Belt; sisters, Maye McGrady, Reba McGrady and Carol McMillion; and brother, Staff Sgt. Ewell Edgel Acord.
Survivors include: her sons, Jack Cook and wife Sue of Lewisburg and Roger Cook and wife Mary Jo of Crawley; grandchildren, Jack Cook, Jr. of Victorville, CA and Travis Cook of Bruceton Mills; great-grandchildren, Jami Belt of Clay, Abigail Cook of Victorville, CA and Lena and Joey Cook of Victorville, CA; great-great-grandson, Nolan Luke Belt; sister, Ila Faye Cherry of Alabama; and brother, William Robert Acord and wife Teresa of Lester, WV.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clitttonville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of the service.
