“Christmas will always be, as long as we stand heart to heart and hand in hand.” —Dr. Seuss
Applications for help from Penny Pitch are arriving from people who need help this year. We will continue taking applications through Nov. 17. At that point, our service club partners will interview the families to determine their needs. Everyone who qualifies will receive help for their children, warm clothing if they need it, a box of food for the holidays, and help keeping their utilities on.
Keeping Christmas in our hearts is the most important part of the season and having room in our hearts for those who are struggling is the best way to celebrate Christmas. Volunteering and donating to help others are selfless acts that can brighten the holidays for those we help and put us in a positive frame of mind, making our own holidays better.
Our community has lots of families that need us this year. We need your help now, and we hope you will consider donating to Penny Pitch, so together we can make the holidays brighter for many families in our county. This is an all-volunteer, community-wide effort. Please send your tax-deductible donation to Penny Pitch, 383 Alderson Street, Lewisburg, WV 24901. Your name will be published as a donor in the Mountain Messenger unless you choose to remain anonymous. If you need more information, or if you know of a family in need, contact us at pennypitchwv@gmail.com.
