The multi-media patriotic musical “God Bless the USA,” featuring full DVD video graphics and accompaniment from Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing, will be presented by the Sanctuary Choir in the 10:30 a.m. morning worship service this Sunday, July 5, at Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene in Fairlea.
The well-known Lee Greenwood signature song “God Bless the USA,” the title song of the musical, leads off, followed by other familiar patriotic songs and those declaring America’s deep dependence on God. The service will conclude with a challenge from God’s Word by Pastor Glen Thaxton.
According to the narrative from the musical, “Our America is … a place that requires our hard work, demands our devotion, and needs our prayers. We do pray that God will bless America – not because we deserve it more than any other place on earth, but because we recognize that our nation is totally dependent on Him.”
Later that day the church will have its evening worship service one hour later than usual, at 7 p.m., with an “All-American dinner” afterward in the Fellowship Hall.
Concluding the evening will be a ground fireworks display presented by church member Zachary Wright in church’s parking lot 9:15 p.m.
