Patricia Brown Sterner passed away on Aug. 30, 2025, from a short unexpected illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Knight Brown and Sarah Droste Brown, and her ex-husband Mark Joseph Sterner.
She is survived by her two beautiful daughters, Dr. Katherine Sterner (husband Matt Talbot with Abigail and Benjamin) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Susan Sterner of Martinsburg, WV; her sisters, Carolyn Cleaton (Allen) of Renick, WV, and Julia Silber of Lutherville, MD; nieces Elizabeth Lester (Anthony) with daughters Whitney, Wallace and Wrenleigh and Dr. Allison Silber (Eric Mills); nephews Peter W. Stephens, Jr. (Jen and daughter Emily), and Zack Silber (Paige and their son, Calvin and daughter, Jacqueline).
She had been a student at Virginia Intermont College, later she graduated from University of Charleston and worked for 23 years for the WV State Tax Department in Martinsburg, WV.
At this time there are no funeral arrangements but in lieu of flowers a donation in her memory would be appreciated to her favorite animal rescue programs. FarmSanctuary.org and GentleGiantDraftHorserescue.org.
