Local artist Pamela Gatens will conduct an acrylic workshop Saturday, Aug. 27 at the WV Artisans Gallery. In the two-hour class, Painting Loose Florals with Pamela Gatens, she will teach students basic skills in creating their own spring bouquet in a loose, free flowing style. Emphasis will be on brushwork and color mixing with a limited palette. Gatens is known for her use of vibrant color and bold brushwork.
The two-hour class will run from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on the last Saturday in August at the gallery located at 951 W. Washington Street in Lewisburg. Extra time will be given to students after the workshop for finishing details and one-on-one help. The $30 registration covers basic materials including paint and set up.
Students are required to provide their own canvas 9×12 or no larger than 11×14. Pre-registration is required. Stop by the gallery or call 434-981-2262, Tuesday-Saturday, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. All levels, beginner to advanced, are welcome.
