Old White Garden Club supports local children’s programs

The Old White Garden Club in White Sulphur Springs holds high the Club Motto, “No great things are achieved without enthusiasm” when opportunities arise to support community projects including those which help children. Most recently, the Old White Garden Club donated funds to assist the White Sulphur Springs Public Library in achieving a matching grant for its Books for Children campaign.

Additionally, the Club contributed to the Snack Packs For Kids (SPFK) outreach ministry for children enrolled in the program at the White Sulphur Springs Elementary School which began in September for the 2014-2015 school year. Snack Packs For KidsS provides a bag of nonperishable nutritious snacks each week for the kids when school breakfast and lunch are unavailable during weekends or school holidays.

The SPFK ministry is run completely by an enthusiastic team of volunteers and is funded solely through generous gifts of individuals, the local faith community, organizations and businesses.

The Old White Garden Club’s donation was presented by Club President, Mardi McMillan (left) during their September meeting to fellow club member Donna Sams-Council (right ) who serves as the Snack Packs For Kids Coordinator.
