New River CTC’s Raleigh County Campus will host a ribbon cutting ceremony and Business After Hours event with Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce from 4 until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 19.
The event will include complimentary food and non-alcoholic drinks, special guests, door prizes, and tours of the building. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. Business After Hours will begin at 5 p.m.
“We are looking forward to showcasing this facility, which has enabled us to better serve our students in the region,” said Dr. L. Marshall Washington, president of New River Community and Technical College. “Our certificate and two-year degree programs prepare students to become financially independent, productive citizens, whether they choose to further their education at a four-year institution or enter the workforce after graduation in a career field.”
Adjacent to the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center on University Drive at the Airport Road exit off Interstate 64, the 55,000 square-foot-building includes classrooms, computer labs, faculty offices, a student lounge area, and a two-story rotunda entryway. An Allied Health wing will be shared with other institutions offering two- and four-year programs in Nursing, Medical Assisting, EMT, and Exercise Physiology.
