New River Community and Technical College allied health instructor Vanessa Bailey recently led groups of students to the West Virginia Capitol, providing an opportunity to network with the state’s leading decision makers.
Bailey, BSN, RN, teaches on the College’s Greenbrier Valley Campus in Lewisburg. In March, she brought New River CTC students and Greenbrier East High School students to the Ladies Caucus Luncheon hosted by West Virginia University’s National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health.
In addition, she traveled with Medical Assisting students to Charleston for West Virginia Rural Health Workforce Day where students interacted with legislators, including U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin.
“It is important to be engaged in our communities and our state,” Bailey said. “I hope that New River CTC students understand that their voice and their involvement can make a difference in the future of West Virginia.”
