Students planning to attend New River Community and Technical College next year are encouraged to apply for scholarships by Monday, Apr. 16.
The New River CTC Foundation will award nearly $100,000 in scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 for the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters. Scholarships provide financial assistance to help pay for college tuition, books, and other expenses.
“The Foundation will approve more scholarships than ever this year to help pay for the cost of college,” said Interim Executive Director of the Foundation Michael Green.
“New River CTC’s current students are aware of this opportunity; however, new students and graduating high school seniors may not realize that a significant number of scholarship funds exist at their local community college,” Green said.
The online application process has been recently updated for efficiency and convenience. Scholarships are available based on New River CTC campus or county of residency and other factors such as field of study, academic merit, financial need or community involvement.
For more information or to submit an application, visit www.nrctcf.org. Scholarship information also is available on New River CTC Foundation’s Facebook page and Twitter account.
