Lewisburg-Nancy Sue Coleman, 74, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 27, 2019, at CAMC in Charleston, WV.

She was born Sept. 19, 1944, in Clarksburg to the late Linwood Hall Young and Susan Avanelle McDaniel Young Corley.

Nancy attended Lewisburg High School and graduated from Phillip Barbour High School class of 1962. She was a member of Old Stone Presbyterian Church of Lewisburg, was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter V, and Lady Companion of the Temple of the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar. She loved arts and crafts in her free time. She spent many years as a legal secretary working for Detch Law Firm and 14 years at Lewisburg Floral before retiring. Nancy loved the beach and the State Fair of West Virginia. She was loved by friends, Jessie B., Julie R., Samantha W., Margaret K. Patty P., Nancy V., Jane S., Litz J., and Elizabeth B. (her Wednesday lunch group).

Other than her parents Linwood Young and Avanelle Young Corley, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, William and Ethel Coleman; step-father, A. Brown Corley; brother, Linwood H. Young; sisters-in-law, Gloria Feeland Young, Nancy Cosby Coleman and Linda Knupp Corley; and brothers-in-law, William S. Coleman and James W. Scarborough.

Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, James “Jim” Keith Coleman; son, Michael William Coleman and wife Sara of Midlothian, VA; daughter, Susan Elizabeth Coleman Hamrick and husband Jonathan of Hillsboro, VA; sister-in-law, Mary Coleman-Scarborough of Lewisburg; brother-in-law, Jack Coleman and wife Jean of Knoxville, TN; sister-in-law, J. Beverly Young of Gallipolis, OH; stepbrothers, Michael Corley of Lewisburg, A.B. Corley Jr. and wife Kathy of Elkview, and Craig Corley and wife Hilda of Gloucester, VA; stepsisters, Mary Jo Jones and husband Cornelius of Dunbar, and Katy Nee of Lower Burrell, PA; and grandchildren, Claire Nickell, Caitlin Hamrick, Zachary Hamrick, Jackson Coleman, and Megan Hamrick; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 2, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg from 6 until 8 p.m.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg with Pastor Ben Gurley officiating.

Private burial will be held in Rosewood Cemetery at a later date. Per Nancy’s wishes, she will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Stone Presbyterian Church Memorials or a Charity of your own choosing.
