Lewisburg – Nancy Carol Kessler Richmond, 71, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.
Born Aug. 7, 1945, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Kessler and Dolly Glenna Pack Kessler.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas Edward (Eddie) Richmond; son, Jeffrey Wayne Richmond and wife, Brandy of Dalton, GA; daughter, Heather Denise Richmond Falls and husband Michael of Lewisburg; brother, Billy Joe Kessler of Hilldale; sister, Betty Jean Kessler of Hinton; five grandchildren, Bradley, Joshua, Greyson, Abraham and Georgiana; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Kessler.
Nancy and Eddie were long-time members of the First Baptist Church of Fairlea. She lived a life of faith, valuing honesty, hard work and service to others. Nancy will be remembered most for her strong-will, determination, vibrancy and loving, generous spirit. She was a mother-figure and caretaker to many, giving freely of her time, talent and resources. She was a contributor to multiple local nonprofit organizations, an advocate for the under-privileged and a lover of animals.
Private graveside services were conducted on Friday, June 16, with the Rev. Ike Hughes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenbrier Valley Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
