Hear a mix of indie, soul, rock and jazz as Ani DiFranco, Dawes, Dave Mason & Red Baraat each take a turn bringing their own unique style to the Clay Center in Mountain Stage with Larry Groce Sunday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. This historic show is the 800th live recorded Mountain Stage performance.
An outspoken singer-songwriter with a massive grassroots following, Ani DiFranco passed on signing with a major label in the ‘90s to continue producing her own music her way. This indie-rock star headlines a diverse group of artists in a show full of amazing talent.
Enjoy the California-based roots rock of Dawes, sing along to the Traffic hit “Feelin’ Alright” with Dave Mason and experience Red Baraat’s interesting mix of hard-driving North Indian bhangra rhythms with elements of jazz, go-go, brass funk and hip-hop in this extraordinary performance.
The show is part of the Clay Center Presents fall 2013 performance season, sponsored by BrickStreet Insurance and National Travel.
Single tickets for this and other Clay Center Presents fall 2013 performances, including Dennis DeYoung: A Founding Member of STYX, Doobie Brothers, Diana Krall Glad Rag Doll World Tour, Jonas Brothers, “Les Misérables” co-presented with Charleston Light Opera Guild and Celtic Woman: Home for Christmas – The Symphony Tour co-presented with West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, are on sale now.
