Carnegie Hall invites the public to the final Mainstage performance of the 2017-2018 season featuring Mipso on Friday, May 11, at 7:30 p.m.
Rolling Stone recently recognized Mipso as an “Artist You Need to Know.” Hailing from Chapel Hill, this indie Americana quartet finds influence in the contradiction of its progressive home and the surrounding rural southern landscapes. Venturing further from its string-band pedigree to discover a broader Americana where classic folk-rock and modern alt-country mingle effortlessly with Appalachian tradition, Mipso’s music is lush and forward moving with lyrics that sear and salve in turn. Mipso released their fifth album, “Edges Run,” on April 6, 2018, via a newly inked record deal with AntiFragile Music.
Opening for Mipso during this engagement will be Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Courtney Hartman, who has toured the world as an ambassador for the U.S. State Department’s Music Exchange program.
The Mainstage Lounge host for this performance is Greenbrier Home Inspections. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Concert tickets are $30, and discounts are available for Carnegie Hall members, students, senior citizens, and military. To purchase tickets, please call 304-645-7917, visit www.carnegiehallwv.org, or visit the Carnegie Hall box office in the Hamilton Auditorium at 611 Church Street, Lewisburg, WV.
