This was the first year junior and senior high school students were invited to attend the educational Mini-Med School with members of the community. WVSOM second-year students conduct the event. Participants are divided into three to four groups, each group concentrating on a different part of the body and rotating through each class. Forty-five participants are attending the four-week school.
“It’s a lot of fun and mentally stimulating. We’ve learned about the heart and staying healthy and arthritis and how to take care of our joints. It’s very informative,” said Flo Kane of Ronceverte. Flo and Leo Kane have participated in the mini-medical school for three years.
