Crawley-Mary Ethel Ripley, 80, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 24, 1935, in Bergoo, WV, and was the daughter of the late Leonard and Fannie Hamrick Fisher.
Mary was a member of the First Church of God in Pickaway, a graduate of Webster Springs High School; was a retired Postmaster with the USPS, had worked at the A&P Grocery Stores in Baltimore, MD and Lewisbnrg, a billing clerk with Montgomery Ward in Baltimore and was an avid quilter, having made over 200 quilts.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband in 1993, Weldon Clevenger; two stepsons, Marion and Joseph Ripley; sister, Mabel Johnson; and brothers, Jack Fisher and Leonard Fisher, Jr.
Surviving are: her husband, Clayton E. Ripley, Sr,; stepsons, Clayton Ripley, Jr. of Sinks Grove and John Ripley and wife Mary of Fallston, MD; grandchildren, Ginny Ripley, Amy Baker, Lauren Weber, Keri Reichart and Eric Reichart; five great-grandchildren; sister, Anne Colnar (Gil) of Ohio; and special dear friend, Pat Deitz and her family; and 11 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ripley were held on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the first Church of God in Pickaway where Pastor Roy Barber and Pastor Clayton Ripley, Sr. officiated. Interment was in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Crawley.
The family received their family and friends on Friday evening, Feb. 12, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
