Zenith-Marsha Lynn Bostic Davy, 61, quietly passed from this earthly life on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at Carillion Roanoke (Virginia) Memorial Hospital surrounded in love by her children and family members after an illness of a little more than one year.
She was born Apr. 3, 1954, in Glace, the daughter of the late Alvin Bostic and the late Helen Jean Webb Bostic Young. She was raised by both her mother, stepfather and her maternal grandmother, the late Gertrude Webb, Clayton Webb, maternal grandfather and Alpha Guy and Normie Spence Bostic, paternal grandparents and stepfather Blaine Young, also preceding her in death.
She attended Union High School and later attended the Greenbrier Valley School of Practical Nursing graduating in 1981. Mrs. Davy was a highly respected nurse of 33 years within the Monroe, Greenbrier, Pocahontas and Summers County areas. She retired from nursing in 2014. Both colleagues and patients alike thought the world of her as both a person and nurse professional. Her kindness and thoughtfulness towards her patients was admired and well-known.
Mrs. Davy was an avid animal lover and doted on her pet ferrets, Fatboy and Sassy, as well as her pet dogs, Daisy and Sam. She particularly enjoyed watching wildlife on and surrounding the home and observing her birds who returned yearly to their various feeders mounted on her porches and in the yard. She further enjoyed crafting, making clothing outfits for her ferrets, and reading. To many who knew her she often had a twinkle in her eye, wore an “impish” grin, and had the most infectious laugh.
Mrs. Davy was a devoted wife of 43 years to her husband, William Frank Davy, who survives in the home. Together she and Bill Davy raised three children, Scott Christopher Smith, who precedes her in death, Holland Blaine Davy, Christiansburg, VA and Crystal Renee Davy, Zenith. She was a doting grandmother to her only grandchild, Riley Gene Davy, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with and spoiling him. An infant son, Donald Smith, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Davy is also survived by a maternal Aunt “Snookie” and husband, “Shorty” Gwinn of Christiansburg, VA and paternal Aunt Bonnie Scott and husband, Roy Scott of Lewisburg.
