Ronceverte – Manfred Allen Bennett, 77, went home to his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 2, 2023.
He was born July 28, 1945, to the late Echols and Madge Holliday Bennett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Edwin, Beuford, Orlie and Albert Bennett; four sisters, Evidene Morgan, Arminta Weikle, Diane Propps and Mila Mitchell and daughter-in-law, Tanya Bennett.
Manfred was a devout member of Zion’s Light Baptist Church. After he retired from Hercules Corporation in Covington, VA, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was most proud of his family, wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Linda; his three children, Jason Bennett of Roanoke, VA, Lisa (Mark) Russo of Watertown, MA, and Mark (Mariah) Bennett of Covington, VA; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Corina) Bennett, Lila (Noah) Layman, Noah Bennett, Trevor, Isaac and Gavin Russo, Robert and Bradyn Bennett; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Manfred Bennett and Sabrina Rose Bennett.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 5, at Zion’s Light Baptist Church, Ronceverte, where Pastor Gary Baker officiated. Burial followed in Adwell Cemetery, Ronceverte.
Visitation was on Sunday evening, June 4, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte.
