U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced Tuesday that a temporary VA health clinic will open in Greenbrier County by the end of this month, according to an email notification from the Beckley VA Medical Center. The clinic will be located at the Rhema Christian Center in Lewisburg and will serve thousands of southern West Virginia Veterans until a permanent replacement clinic is established.
“In September, Secretary McDonald and I traveled to southern West Virginia to meet with more than 200 concerned Veterans about the future of the Greenbrier health clinic,” Senator Manchin said. “Today, I am so pleased to finally announce that our Veterans will once again have access to the medical care and services they need at this mobile clinic while we finalize the plans for a permanent clinic. I am thankful for the VA, the West Virginia Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) and our local Veterans for working together to ensure this facility is reopened. The reopening of the Greenbrier Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) is an important step to fulfilling the promise of care that was guaranteed to our Veterans.”
