U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) have announced a total of $949,992 will be awarded to the West Virginia University (WVU) Telehealth Network Grant Program and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. WVSOM was awarded $650,000.
“Every West Virginian deserves access to quality healthcare,” Manchin said. “This funding will help enable the WVU Telehealth Network to continue utilizing important technologies to serve rural health centers throughout West Virginia. It will also enable more disadvantaged students to attend the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and pursue their academic dreams. Both of these grants are wonderful news for the future of rural healthcare and academic success in West Virginia.”
