A Lewisburg man has been arrested for an alleged hit-and-run at Wal-Mart on Tuesday.
Paul Edward Simms, 38, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a suspended license, no insurance and improper registration, according to a press release from the Lewisburg Police Department. He was also served outstanding warrants for false representation for employment benefits.
Police say a woman was crossing through the parking lot on Tuesday in plain view, when Simms allegedly hit her with his vehicle. The crash took place around 1 p.m. and was caught on camera.
The victim was treated for unknown injuries at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
Simms was arraigned in Greenbrier County Magistrate Court and released on $2,500 bond after being served with outstanding warrants regarding the false representation charges.
