On Sept. 30, Devon Davis, 21, of Rainelle, was arrested on one count of possession of child pornography.
The arrest follows an investigation led by Sergeant D.L. Vaught of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, initiated after receiving a tip from the West Vir-ginia State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. That tip led to a detailed investi-gation, culminating in Davis’s arrest.
Davis is currently being held at the Southern Regional Jail on a $15,000 cash-only bond. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as evidence continues to be reviewed.
In a joint statement, Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney Nicole Campbell and Sheriff Bart Baker emphasized their commitment to protecting children:
“Anyone who targets, victimizes, or exploits our children will be targeted for arrest and prosecution. The safety of our children is our top priority, and we remain steadfast in our resolve to protect them at all costs.”
Law enforcement encourages anyone with infor-mation about internet crimes involving children to report it to the appropriate authorities.
