Main Street White Sulphur Springs will “Light Up the Village” for the town’s annual Holiday Open House. This year’s event will be held Saturday, Nov. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. Downtown businesses featuring gift items, holiday décor, food, home accessories and more will be open and offering refreshments.
In addition to a special appearance from Santa, West Virginia native and America’s Got Talent winner Landau Eugene Murphy will appear at Old Mill Park. In case of inclement weather Murphy will be at Gillespie Brothers Antiques, from 6 to 8 p.m. signing copies of his just released CD, “Christmas Made For Two.” Murphy asks that everyone bring a canned or non-perishable food item to one of the businesses to benefit the EUMC WSS Food Pantry.
“We are really excited about this year’s Light up the Village and the participation of Landau,” said Sadie Fraley, executive director of Main Street White Sulphur Springs. “The businesses are really in the spirit with their decorations and holiday offerings and everyone is looking forward to enjoying the festivities.”
Children age 3-12 are invited to build a gingerbread house at Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore. This fun, family-friendly and complimentary event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The gingerbread kits were generously donated by Gillespie Brothers Fine Antiques and Interiors. For more information on the gingerbread house construction event, contact the ReStore at 304-536-9190.
