Linda Vaughn, a local quilter and member of the Alderson Quilt Guild, won the coveted Best in Show All Around Award at the June 2024 West Virginia State Quilt Show in Summersville. Her quilt, “Gardener’s Alphabet,” was entered in the Duet Mixed Large category where it won first prize and went on to win the top award.
Other Guild members winning ribbons in various categories included: Arabel Blumling – Third Place; Sheila Maxey – Second Place and an Honorable Mention; Linda Vaughn – Second Place and a Third Place; Deborah Weikle – Second Place. The Guild’s Raffle Quilt, Summer Explosion, won an Honorable Mention.
