In the past six months, several area nonprofits have been meeting to collaborate in a joint effort known as Run the GBV. These area nonprofits have spearheaded a race series that is featuring four area races: High Rocks Celtic Knot 5K, HospiceCare Chocolate Chase 10K, Black Diamond Girl Scout Council Thin Mint Sprint 5K and the new United Way TOOT 10K.
The group worked with Travis Farley in creating a logo for the race series. Participants running in each of these races can qualify for the Run the GBV championship jacket at the end of the series in October 2016. Follow them on Facebook under “Run the GBV” for race updates, and check out each individual organizations page for sign-ups. Other races in the area for the upcoming year are United Way Dirt Dash 5 mile Trail Run and CASA’s Superhero Race both being hosted in May.
The race series is being sponsored by Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
