Ronceverte-Linda Lou Kelley, 74, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home in Lewisburg.
She was born Feb. 24, 1941, at Wayside, a daughter of the late Clarence Walter and Gretis Salome Allen Simmons.
Linda retired as Administrative Assistant with the Food & Beverage Department at The Greenbrier Hotel; was a member of Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church and attended the ARP Church in Fairlea; was past President of Ronceverte’s Women’s Club; former member of OES; Committee Chairman of the Ronceverte Centennial and the first Ronceverte River Festival, where she won several first place awards in the chili cook off. She was the organizer of the Ronceverte Fall Festival; was on the Board of Trustees of the Ronceverte Public Library; and was on the Ronceverte Municipal Building Commission.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robbie.
She is survived by: her husband, Norman “Eugene” Kelley; two daughters, Sandra Doggett White of White Sulphur Springs and Melissa Jean Kelley of Culloden; step-daughter, Bethany Zambella of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Jonathan Paul White, Katie Hannah White, Hayley Dawn Bittinger, Sabastian Peake and Emma Peake; three great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Jean Clark of Scottsville, KY; and brother, James H. Simmons of Gloucester, VA.
Funeral service will be Friday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte, with Rev. Ike Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg.
The family received friends Thursday evening, Sept. 3, at the funeral home.
